Expert 2 C.I.T Europe
David has been training in martial arts for over thirty years (beginning around the age of 11), have been an IKMF instructor for ten years (with several years of Krav Maga training prior to that).
He holds the rank of Expert Level 2 and is a Continental Instructor Team (CIT) member for Europe. Before then, David was IKMF's Director in the United Kingdom.
David's background prior to Krav Maga includes decades of training, competing and teaching in amateur boxing, Muay Thai, Judo, the Filipino martial arts and more latterly, BJJ and some MMA, studied Kung Fu, Karate, Aikido and other traditional martial arts for over ten years.
Whilst training and competing in 'combat sports' was the mainstay of much of the early training, his priority has always been 'real' martial arts or 'combatives'. David spent several years as a nightclub doorman and qualified instructor in F.A.S.T Defence, F.A.S.T Combatives and Urban Combatives, as well as a keen devotee of British World War II Combatives (that originated with Fairbairn and Sykes).
David has a PhD in Political Science, is a university academic and have worked within the field of religious radicalism and counter-terrorism. Also, David still runs one of the longest-standing Krav Maga clubs in the UK (and has four instructors that now work with him), bringing this wealth of practical experience with him to his CIT duties.
